Abstract:
To provide a storage system and a cache control method for improving a reading performance of data.SOLUTION: A storage system 1 includes at least a first drive (SSD 12, for example) with an upper limit on a count of data writing, and a second drive (SSD 13, SAS 14, for example) whose reading rate of data is different from the first drive, as a data storage. Then, a control unit 110 of a storage controller 11 includes a writing count detection unit 112 for detecting a writing count of the data to the first drive, a pseudo cache construction unit 113 for stopping writing of the data to the first drive and making it available as a second cache memory (pseudo cache) after stopping when a writing count of the data to the first drive (SSD 12, for example) exceeds a predetermined threshold value, and a cache control unit 111 for performing a cache control using the data stored in the first and second cache memories as cache data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
