Abstract:

To provide an interface module which can be adapted to a plurality of kinds of communication protocols using the same input/output port, and to provide a storage system with the interface module applied thereto, and a computing system.

The interface module comprises a serial signal sending/receiving part 11 to be connected to an outer transmission line; and an interface processing part 10 to be connected to the sending/receiving part. The interface processing part includes a serial parallel converting part 13; an encoding/decoding part 14; a protocol processing part 15 having at least two kinds of selectable protocol processing functions; and a communication mode changeover circuit 18 for changing-over a basic clock frequency, to be supplied to the serial parallel converting part, linked with the changeover of the protocol processing functions.
