PURPOSE: To remove the uneven brightness of the polished skin and the cutting texture of a polished bar steel product and to improve the polished surface by providing a grinding material on the facing of a two polishing rolls straightening machine.

CONSTITUTION: The facings 3, 4 guiding a bar steel product are arranged at both sides between rolls on the polishing roll straightening machine equipped with two rotational rolls 1, 2 whose rotary axial line is crossed. For instance the polishing material 5 contg. an adrasive grain is provided at the inlet port side of the facing 3 thereon to polish the bar steel product at the initial stage of straightening. On the steel bar product peeled by a peeling machine the tear, chattering mark, some unevenness, etc., marked during the peeling are removed with the polishing action by the polishing material 5 of the facing 4 in the former half of the two-roll straightening when they are passed through the two polishing rolls straightening machine. And in succession a polishing effect is given to the product surface by the latter half roll. Consequently, the polished bar steel product coming out of the straightening machine is straightened to have the original straightness and also the excellent polished surface having no uneven brightness nor cutting design.
