PURPOSE: To easily pull out a cake and also to enable an end yarn to be easily found by making tubes fitted around winders of a strand winding device of bleached kraft paper or polyethylene, and providing nozzles for injecting liquid toward the outer surfaces of the tubes, so as to press the end yarn of the strand against the outer surface.

CONSTITUTION: Since a turret 42 of a winding device 41 is turned and a strand 51 is wound in the vicinity of the intermediate part of an empty collet (tube), cakes can be individually taken out without intersecting the outer cakes even when a plurality of cakes 57 are wound around one collet. The tubes 46 are made of bleached kraft paper or polyethylene, and nozzles 60, 61 for injecting water in order to press the end yarn of the strand 51 against the outer periphery are provided, thereby the winding is made accurate. There is no possible that the end yarns of spiral collects are cut by end yarn cutting blades 59 of the strand 51. The cake can be easily pulled out because there is no projecting part in the outer peripheral axial direction of the tube 46, and the cut-out is matched in an inner layer of the cake 57, the end can be easily found.
