Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a stretch woven fabric having excellent drapability and flexible feeling by subjecting a woven fabric containing a polyester fiber as the warp and a specific covered yarn as the weft to a specific relaxation treatment followed by an alkali-thinning treatment.

CONSTITUTION: This stretch woven fabric having elegant luster and free from crimp on the surface is produced from a satin cloth composed of a polyester fiber as the warp and a covered yarn containing a polyether polyurethane fiber as the core yarn and a polyester fiber as the sheath yarn. The satin cloth has a linear density FL of 1.4-1.7 [defined by formula I (Df is diameter of the weft; Dw is diameter of the warp)] and a cloth density Cd of 0.5-0.65 {defined by formula II [WL is linear density of weft and is (Df+Dw)/df; df is distance between the axes of adjacent wefts; Wf is texture coefficient and is {(A+B)/2A}2; A is the number of yarns in one complete texture; P is the number of interlocked yarns in one complete texture]}. The stretch woven fabric is produced by subjecting the satin cloth to a relaxation treatment while raising the temperature stepwise, presetting after tentering at a tentering ratio of 20-50%, thinning with an alkali at a thinning ratio of 10-30wt.%, dyeing the product, tentering at a tentering ratio of ≤4% and finally subjecting to finish setting.
