Abstract:

To provide a stretchable metal mesh manufactured by use of a roll with a polygonal DLC (diamond-like carbon) pattern that solves a problem of side etching, and to provide a method for manufacturing the stretchable metal mesh.

The metal mesh is manufactured by continuous plating of a metal that can be plated by using a roll with a polygonal DLC pattern described below; a mesh shape of the metal mesh is configured to be a polygon. The roll is manufactured through steps of: applying a photoresist on a surface of a cylindrical metal base body that can be plated; exposing and developing the resist to form a mesh-like resist pattern; forming a DLC coating film on the surfaces of the cylindrical metal base material and the mesh-like resist pattern; and peeling the DLC coating film formed on the mesh-like resist pattern together with the mesh-like resist pattern so as to form a polygonal DLC pattern on the surface of the cylindrical metal base material.
