Abstract:

To obtain a string for a bow which is disassembled in a natural environment and has excellent elastic modulus, wear resistance, thermal stability or the like by forming the string of a lactate polymer composition.

The string for a bow is formed of a lactate polymer composition. Here, the composition means to include a lactate homopolymer, a lactate copolymer and a blended polymer. The lactate homopolymer is a polymer constituted only of a monomer unit substantially originated from an L-lactic acid and/or a D-lactic acid. The lactate copolymer is obtained by copolymerizing a lactate monomer or a lactide and a copolymerizable another component. As such another component, a dicarboxylic acid having two or more ester bond formable functional group, polyhydric alcohol, hydroxycarboxylic acid, lactone or the like and polyesters made of these various constituting components, polyethers, polycarbonates and the like are used.
