Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a using method of a strip cutter which introduces the top end of a strip to the coil side with a simple mechanism and which is not required to drop the passing speed more than a prescribed value.
SOLUTION: By using a strip cutter 9 which is made of a drum type installed with respective cutting knives 12, 13 on the drums 14, 15 opposed at upper and lower sides, which cuts the strip 3 with the rotating upper and lower both knives 12, 13 and which is provided with a strip protecting member 24 to protect the strip 3 from the knives 12, 13, about the strip 3 fed continuously, in the time of the top end of the strip until being wound to a coiler 2, by positioning the lower side drum 15 nearby the pass line, the strip 3 is introduced to the coiler 2 side with the rotating lower side drum 15.
