Abstract:
To detect a concrete shape such as an edge wave shape when the shape of a strip under transfer is detected.
In the strip shape detection device, a laser range finder 1 which can scan the strip in its width direction and can measure the degree of wavy edge by measuring the distance from its sensor head to the strip measures the degree of wavy edge with the scan direction skewed with respect to the strip width direction so that the same position in the strip transfer direction can be scanned in the strip width direction in accordance with the moving speed of the strip.
