Abstract:
PURPOSE: To secure an uniform hardenability and to prevent the generation of a plane strain at heat treatment time by giving noncontinuous unevenness on a surface at a surface roughening stage.
CONSTITUTION: A noncontinuous ruggedness is provided by at least one means of a shot blast, laser treatment, etching and electric discharge machining on the surface of a continuously traveling strip steel. The grinding roll extending at specified angle to the longitudinal direction of the strip steel is also provided and the single-cut inclined and/or parallel to the longitudinal direction of the strip steel is provided by bringing into contact with this grinding roll. The strip steel having less plane strain at heat treatment time can thus be obtd.
