A columnar bar part 2 and the planar forming parts 4 consisting of short side parts and along side parts are arranged in a stripe forming tool 1, the blade parts are formed in one-long side parts of the forming parts 4 so as to be fixedly fitted in the axial direction of the bar part 2 in one end part 3 of the bar par 2 at intervals. The blades parts of the forming parts 4 are abutted on the furface of a food material, the whole blade parts of the forming parts 4 projected out downwards from the frame 8 of the stripe forming tool 1 are cut into the food material and, after that, the stripe forming tool 1 is moved to a worker side so that stripes are formed on the surface of the food material.
