Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain adequate exposure by automatically selecting automatic light control when the reliability of information on the distance to an object is low or when a macro photographing mode is set.
SOLUTION: In a light control system selection part 6, TTL light control and FM light control are selected automatically or manually by a photographer. In the case of automatically selecting the light control, such selection is judged based on output from an object distance reliability decision part 3, an object distance arithmetic operation part 4 and a macro photographing mode setting part 5. Namely, the TTL light control is selected in the case the decision part 3 judges that the reliability of the result of output from the arithmetic operation part 1 is low or in the case the macro photographing mode is set, on the contrary, the FM light control is selected in the case of deciding that the reliability of the result of the output from the part 1 is high or in the case of deciding that a subject is in a backlight state. Based on the result of the selection, a flash light emitting part 9 is controlled to emit light by a TTL light control part 7 or an FM light control part 8.
