To improve operability at the time of executing strobe photographing, while protecting a photographic lens.

A charging switch 15 is integrally provided in a switching plate 41 and freely movable in a vertical direction between an ON position for operating a charging circuit and an OFF position for stopping the operation. When a protective cover 50 is in a nonuse position, a pin 52 is fitted in a locking groove 54 extended in a horizontal direction and the charging switch 15 is moved to the OFF position, to inhibit a movement to the side of the ON position. When the protective cover 50 is moved to the side of a photographing position, the engagement position of the pin 52 with a cam groove 53 is moved to the bottom end side of the cam groove 53, to gradually push up the switching plate 41. When the protective cover 50 reaches the photographing position, the charging switch 15 is moved to the ON position. In such a case, the pin 52 is released to the side of the side end face 41a of the switching plate 41 and the vertical movement of the switching plate 41 is permitted, so that the strobe photographing is selectively executed. When the protective cover 50 is moved to the nonuse position, the charging switch 15 is moved to the OFF position.
