PURPOSE: To join a hood ridge panel with a radiator core support panel favorably in terms of strength for the suspension input.

CONSTITUTION: A rack 16 and a vertical wall 17 extending downward are formed at the upper edge of a side wall 15 rising from the under-wall part 14 of a hood ridge panel 13. Flanges 24, 25 stretching backward of the car body are formed at the side edge and bottom edge of a radiator core support panel 21, while a rack 22 directed to the inside of the car cabin and a third flange 23 are formed at the top edge. That end 23a of this flange 23 which is situated inside of the car cabin is embodied as extending fore and aft about the car body. The moment generated at the front end of the hood ridge panel 13 with the suspension input is received in the shear direction and opposed by the junctions of the flanges 24, 25 with the end 23a of flange 23.
