Abstract:

To enhance the accuracy in centering two different die-cast metal molds while they are being joined.

Of a pair of metal molds 40 and 50 to be joined together, the metal mold 40 on one hand has, on its surface to be joined, projections 43, 43 formed radially from the approximate center of the thermal expansion of the metal mold. On the other hand, the metal mold 50 has, on its surface to be joined, recesses 56, 56 formed, while the dimensions of these recesses 56 in the radial direction are set greater than those of the projections 43, thus engaging the projections 43 with the recesses 56.
