PURPOSE: To improve the light transmission efficiency between a photoelectric conversion element and an optical fiber by having two pieces of lenses in such a manner that the light emitted from one of these lenses is once collimated to collimated beams of light and is focused at the other.
CONSTITUTION: This photoelectric conversion element 1 is provided with a chip 11 on its pedestal 10. The first lens 13 is formed on a transparent case 12 covering the chip 11. The lens 13 is aligned in its optical axis to the chip 11 and is disposed apart the focal length therefrom. The optical fiber 4 has a transparent end 6 and the second lens 7 is formed at the transparent end 6. The lens 7 is aligned in its optical axis to the end face of the optical film 4 and is disposed apart the focal length therefrom. the lens 7 is aligned in its optical axis to the lens 13 and is disposed in tight contact with the lens 13. The light Ls projected from the chip 11 of the photoelectric conversion element 1 is collimated by the lens 13 to the collimated beams of light and is focused at the end face of the optical fiber 4 by the lens 7.
