Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent dragging phenomenon of a brake by installing the spring, which urges pads nearly to the center of a rotor in contracted state, between the pads and a torque receiving member, and generating, on the pads, the force in the direction always departing from the rotor. CONSTITUTION:On the spring 8 which urges pads 6 and 7 nearly towards the center of a rotor 1, the inclined surface 8C which urges the pads 6 and 7 in the direction departing from the rotor 1 side is formed, and the force acting in the forde acting in the direction departing from the rotor 1 is generated on the pads 6 and 7 by the urging force of the spring 8 for holding both pads 6 and 7. As both pads 6 and 7 are always separated from the rotor 1, when the brake is inoperative, dragging phenomenon of the brake can be prevented.
