Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve a life, reliability by forming a tungsten coil formed by depositing platinum on a surface of tungsten in a plug for a diesel engine in which low cetane number fuel is used as main fuel.
CONSTITUTION: Tungsten is used as a heat generating coil material to form a tungsten coil 3A, and its surface is adhered with platinum by depositing, etc. Since a melting temperature of the platinum is sufficiently higher than a burning temperature and stable, it effectively performs a function as a reaction protective film of the tungsten. This coil 3A is buried in ceramics (b) of a glow plug, burned in a furnace to form the plug. Thus, its durability can be improved.
