Title:
STRUCTURE OF GOLF BALL HAVING STABLE ROTARY SHAFT END DURING FLIGHT MARKED ON SPHERICAL SURFACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01151470
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a golf ball fly straight to a target by reducing clockwise or counterclockwise rotary kinematics energy to fly the ball while correcting the flying line thereof by keeping it in the direction of the target. CONSTITUTION: A weight part 3 is inserted into a ball 6 to significantly decenter the center of gravity of the ball and, when the ball 6 is hit and makes a high rotation, an inertial moment of the weight part 3 works so that the ball 6 can be flown in the direction of rotation intrinsic to the ball 6. The line of a flying rotation axis 5-5' at this moment is measured to apply a 'mark' to the intersection with the spherical surface. Regarding a ball hitting method, one of the 'marks' of the stable rotation axis ends 5 and 5' of the ball 6 obtained by measurement is set toward ahead of a hitting person, and then, the ball is hit so as to maximize the inertial moment of the weight part 3. In this process, lateral rotary motion attributed to the habitual way of the hitting person, the deformation of the ball 6 and the like is absorbed by a larger rotary inertial moment of the weight part 3. An effect thus generated accomplishes a straight flight while correcting the orbit and the ball 6 flying toward the target by straightening 'curving'.
