PURPOSE: To effectively interrupt the input and output of vibration by a foundation structure as well as to simplify the structure by a method in which the surface of a liquid in a tank is sealed up and the pressure and air column height in an air layer or chamber provided on the bottom and side of a foundation structure are separately regulated.
CONSTITUTION: A foundation structure 1 on which an important facility 12 is mounted is housed in a tank 2 filled with a liquid 3, and a seal 4 is applied to the contact face between the liquid 3 and an open air. Many air chambers 6 partitioned by partition walls 5 are provided to the bottom of the structure 1 in such a way that the air in the chambers 6 is brought into contact with the contact face 7 of the liquid 3. Also, as needed, an air chamber 9 having no contact face with the liquid 3 by seal 8 is provided for the periphery of the bottom and a tube 10 constituting air chamber 11 is provided to the side of the structure 1. The structure 1 is designed to have a wide and great loading capacity and an arbitrary spring constant as well as to have regulatable vibration transmittivity by varying its natural frequency.
