To easily constitute a structure body having a radius of curvature without a special mold, a device and a worker by forming a slit on at least one surface in at least two surfaces perpendicular to each other.
This structure member 10 is made of a plate material such as aluminum, stainless steel or plastic resin, and is formed in a longitudinal body of an L- shaped cross section. The structure member 10 is composed of a first 11 and a second plate 13, and slits 15 are disposed on the plate 13 at equal clearances. When the member 10 is attached to end edge parts of a roof part 21a and a side wall part 21b in an outer frame body 21 of an air conditioner 20 for railway rolling stock, the upper surface of the plate 11 is bent by push-pressing, and an opening width of a tip end part of the slits 15 becomes narrow. The plate 11 mounted on an edge of the roof part 21a, the plate 13 is matched with the side wall part 21b, the plate 11 is optionally push-pressed, and the plate 13 and the side wall part 21b are fixed to each other by means of spot welding and the like while matching with a radius of curvature of the roof part 21a. The member 10 is bending-worked with small force by forming the slits 15, the number and the pitch of the slits 15 are changed according to the radius degree of curvature of the attaching surface, and the member 10 corresponds to suitable bending work.
