To provide a die cooling structure which can efficiently cool molten metal filled up in a cavity and provides a cooling block very easily manufactured, and a die cooling method which is performed by using this cooling structure.
The structure for cooling the die for die casting, is provided with a sliding core 1 having a core holder 11, and in the core holder 11, a core die 12 is fixed, and in the core die 12, the cooling block 13 is fixed. The cooling block 13 is constituted by laminating three platy members composed of a first plate member 41, a second plate member 42 and a third plate member 43. On the back surface 42B of the second plate member 42 abutted on the first plate member 41, a first groove 42c constituted of a cooling medium flowing passage is formed, and on the back surface 43B of the third plate member 43 abutted on the second plate member 42, a second groove 43c constituted of the cooling medium flowing passage is formed.
