PURPOSE: To make efficient use of kinetic energy in a battery carrier.

CONSTITUTION: A battery carrier 12 mounted with a battery 11 is clamped tight to the lower part of an electric automobile body 10, and a steering gearbox 14 is installed in front of the vehicle. Looking from the car front, the steering gearbox 14 is superposed on the battery carrier with each other. This battery carrier 12 is cut apart from a locker 40 in time of a frontal lash and shifts forward, then the front of the battery carrier 12 collided with the steering gearbox 14, making it press the steering box 14 forward the vehicle in consequence. Accordingly, at the time of the frontal clash, kinetic energy in the battery carrier is fully utilized, whereby a steering column connected to the steering gearbox 14 is shiftable forward the vehicle.
