Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a tool mounting structure which permits mounting of a tool on a spindle under such a condition that the axes of the two are identical in precision, which can, under machining, enlarge the sustaining force for the force willing to bend the tool to the spindle, and which enables to produce a fine surface machined.
CONSTITUTION: A tapered shank 8 at the tail of a tool is fitted in a taper hole 3 formed in the spindle 2 of a machine tool. A vibration isolating body 15 made of resilient material is provided on the rear surface of a flange 10 furnished at the periphery of the tool 5. When the shank 8 is fitted in the taper hole 3, the vibration isolating body 15 is put in the compressed state interposed between the front face of the spindle 2 and the rear surface of the flange 10.
