To provide a structure for a protective garment which does not cause an increase in weight, can be easily sewn, and has a high pressure-resistant performance and a high safety property.SOLUTION: A structure 10 is used as a protective garment for protecting the body from high-pressure water. The structure 10 comprises a first layer material 11, a second layer material 12, a third layer material 13, a forth layer material 14, and a fifth layer material 15. The first layer material 11 is disposed on the pressure receiving side and is made of a fabric obtained by knitting ultrahigh molecular-weight polyethylene fibers in high density into a double knitted fabric. The second layer material 12 is disposed on the rear face 22 side of the first layer material 11 and is made of a nonwoven fabric of ultrahigh molecular-weight polyethylene fibers. The third layer material 13 is disposed on the rear face 22 side of the second layer material 12 and is made of a resin-impregnated nonwoven fabric of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers. The forth layer material 14 is disposed on the rear face 22 side of the third layer material 13 and is made of a fabric obtained by weaving fibers of a polyamide resin into a fabric having a coarser mesh than that of the fabric forming the first layer material 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
