Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a structure for the rear side member of an automobile, which can enhance the mounting rigidity of a bracket by one reinforcement, and concurrently improves the adhering properties of electrodepositing solution.
CONSTITUTION: A reinforcement roughly in a hat section in cross section is formed along an automobile lateral direction by forming a projected section 23 over the upper surface of a bracket mounting area in the horizontal section of a rear side member 16, the inner side end of the reinforcement 22 is connected to the vertical section 28 of the rear side member 16, and concurrently, its outer side end 25 is raised up so as to be connected to the upper surface 10a of a side sill 12.
