Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and simplify the assembly by forming a roof side rail with a channel steel and a panel member joined on the outside of both side walls of this channel steel at both side edges and directly holding a weather strip with the channel steel. CONSTITUTION:A roof side rail 1 is constituted with a lip channel steel 2 arranged so that its groove section 3 faces the inside of the door opening and a panel member 6 overlap-coupled by welding on the outside of both side walls 5 of the lip channel steel 2 at its both side edges 7 to form an enclosed cross section structure. In addition, the edge 8a of a roof panel 8 is fitted by welding on the outer face of the outer side wall 7 of the panel member 6. The welding seam of this edge 8a is covered by a lace 9. The base section 13 of a weather strip 12 is held in close contact inside the bottom section 4 and side wall 5 of the groove section 3 of the lip channel steel 2.
