Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mounting a ballast tank for reducing the vibration of a drum type washing machine.
SOLUTION: The vibration reducing method is intended to mount the ballast tank (4) on a rotary drum of the drum type washing machine and has a water supply system and a position detection system. The ballast tank (4) is made by winding a hollow water retaining structure (8) around the drum (1), connecting it to a baffle (3) and providing the baffle (3) with a partition (9) for the water retaining tank. The water retaining structure (8) is divided by a partition (10) and also has a through hole (18) through which accumulated water (14) in the interior can freely come and go. Water is injected to the upper portion of an outer tub just before spin-drying rotation is performed to reduce the centrifugal force of washing located in the opposite side by a water injection nozzle (21) connected to a water supply valve controlled by the quantity of injection. The drum is moved and stopped by detecting the position by using a mark attached to a drum rotating mechanism.
