To achieve the compatibility of the durability and productivity of a thermal barrier coating by efficiently forming an oxygen battier layer which is satisfactory in adhesion to a metal joining layer, and has a film thickness more uniform than heretofore.
The thermal barrier coating structure for protecting a base material against heat is provided. The structure includes a metal joining layer formed on the base material, an oxygen barrier layer constituted by a thin film of dense oxide ceramics of a relative density 95% indicating the ratio of actually measured density with respect to theoretical density, and a ceramics thermal barrier layer formed on the ceramics thermal barrier layer. An anchoring layer is formed at the boundary between the metal joining layer and an oxygen barrier layer.
