Title:
STRUCTURE WITH GLASS FILM FUSED TO THERMALLY SPRAYED LAYER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0874071
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a fused structure resistant to corrosion and oxidation even for a large-sized thermally sprayed layer by fusing a glass film onto a thermally sprayed layer and incorporating the Cr2O3 thermally formed when glass is fused into the glass film.

CONSTITUTION: A glass film is fused onto a metallic or ceramic theramlly sprayed layer to form a fused structure. In this case, the Cr2O3 or Cr2O3 multiple oxide thermally formed when glass is fused is incorporated into the glass coating film. A soluble chromium compd. is preferably used as the component forming the Cr2O3, etc. By the addition of this compd., the rugged face of of the thermally sprayed layer is wetted by the glass, and an extremely thin continuous film free of bubbles is formed. As a result, a structure with a glass film fused to the thermally sprayed layer, impermeable to gas and liq. and highly resistant to the high-temp. corrosive gas and liq. is obtained.
