To obtain an industrial structurized surface having locally regulated liquid-repellent and liquid-wettable regions by including an uplifted part having specific average height and average interval, the surface energy of a not- structurized material smaller than a specific value, and a liquid-wettable partial region.
This structurized surface includes an uplifted part having 50 nm to 10 μm average height and 50 nm to 10 μm average interval, the surface energy of a not-structurized material smaller than 35 mN/m, and a liquid- wettable partial region. The not-structurized material is preferably a poly(tetrafluoroethylene) or the like. The surface is obtained, as one preferable method, by forming the uplifted part and the not-uplifted liquid-wettable partial region mechanically or by lithography on the surface having the surface energy. The surface is useful for production or the like of a sample carrier for instrumental analysis or a sample carrier having a liquid transmission system.
