To provide a study desk whose appearance is not damaged without letting gaps between a top plate and left and right side plate parts be in a visual field from the front side even in the case that the height of the top plate is adjusted and the gaps are formed.

The study desk is provided with the top plate 3 and the side plate parts 14 for legs which hold the left and right edges of the top plate 3. A height adjusting mechanism 4 for adjusting the height of the top plate 3 by increasing and decreasing the gaps G of the upper end faces 14a of the side plate parts 14 and the left and right lower surfaces of the top plate 3 is provided. Suspension pieces 8 having outer surfaces 18 roughly flat with the respective outer surfaces of the side plate parts 14 and closing the front ends of the gaps G are integrally attached at the lower surface front positions of the left and right edges of the top plate 3. A pair of left and right drawers 2 are provided, and the suspension pieces 8 are disposed at positions at which they cover the outer side faces of the front half parts of the drawers 2 in the state of being stored on the lower surface side of the top plate 3.
