Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stunning device which can efficiently and continuously carry out works for giving electric shocks to pigs without causing the lashing, escape or sitting of the pigs.
SOLUTION: This device for driving the pigs into a path in a row and then continuously stunning the pigs in a treating space at the end of the path with electric shocks is characterized by comprising a stopper for stopping the movements of the pigs from the front side in the treating space, a fixed nipping plate disposed on one side of each of the pigs, a movable nipping plate which is disposed on the other side of the pig and is driven with a driving mechanism to nip the pig together with the fixed nipping plate, a retreat-stopping plate openably disposed in the path to stop the retreat of the pig from the treating space, a stun gum for giving electric shocks to the pigs, and a pushing machine for pushing out the stunned pig toward the opened side of the treating space, when the driving mechanism is backwardly driven to retreat the movable nipping plate.
