PURPOSE: To sharply express an image having a fine pattern by a method wherein a stencil having a desired image formed thereon is brought into close contact with a receiving material and a sublimation transfer sheet containing a sublimable dye is superposed on the stencil to be heated and pressed.
CONSTITUTION: A stencil 14 and transfer paper 16 are superposed on a receiving material 12 and pressed under heating in the direction shown by an arrow from above to form an image on the receiving material. As the receiving material, paper, cloth and other arbitrary material can be used but one low in heat resistance is not pref. A pattern is formed to the stencil 14, for example, by punching a thin metal plate with a thickness of 0.01-0.1mm. The part where ink must be bonded by transfer of the metal plate is punched to become a hole.
