To enable a plurality of ink ribbons to be interchanged at the same timing without causing a futile discard of remaining ink ribbon while preventing the ink ribbon of upstream from being consumed earlier than the one of downstream as much as possible even if a print processing is interrupted on the way.
In a sublimation-type printer wherein a plurality of ink ribbons Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd containing inks which are transferred to a paper P are arranged in parallel in the direction of the paper P and the printing is excuted with each of the ink ribbons Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd toward the paper P under conveyance in the order of Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd of the ink ribbons of upstream, the total amount of each of the two or more ink ribbons Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd is established much more in the order of Ra, Rb and Rc of the ink ribbons of upstream.
