PURPOSE: To print clearly on ordinary paper by applying uniform coating to its base.

CONSTITUTION: Immediately after a coupling layer of a coating film 18 is transferred thermally on an image receiving face of a base material 15 of a plain paper by a first guide roller arranged between a coating platen 20 and a printing platen 12, the coating film 18 and an image receiving paper 13 are peeled off from each other. Thus, the coupling layer transferred thermally to the image receiving paper 13 will be prevented from returning to the coating film 18. Accordingly, the coupling layer can be formed on the base material 15 of the plain paper uniformly without irregularity, so that clear printing can be realized.
