Title:
SUBMARINE SEDIMENT COLLECTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03186730
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a force work/power working device from the outside and to efficiently execute the collecting work by hanging and holding a collector through a spring in the body formed by connecting it to the lower container through a ball value in the lower part of a pressure container.

CONSTITUTION: On board the vessel, the tip of a draw-out rod 16 is inserted from a hole of the lower face of a collector 8, a screw part of its tip is screwed and attached to a screw hole formed in the lower end of the rod, the collector 8 is drawn out to the lower part of the body against a spring 7, and the draw- out rod 16 is removed. Also, the collector 8 is in a state that the casing is opened by a spring, in the outside of the main body. The device being in such a state is allowed to be lowered to the sea bottom, the lower end part of the collector 8 is allowed to be lowered to right above the submarine sediment and by operating a manipulator, the upper end part of a sleeve holder 11 is pushed as indicated with an arrow 17. Consequently, a sleeve 9 is detached from the holder 11, the sleeve 9 drops down to the lower part by a spring 10, the collector 8 is closed by the sleeve 9, and the submarine sediment is collected 8.
