Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a submerged arc welding part capable of improving low temperature toughness of a seam welding part of a UO steel pipe for a line pipe used in an extremely cold district.SOLUTION: A submerged arc welding part excellent in low temperature toughness is characterized in that, in a welding part of a UO steel pipe manufactured by forming a steel plate of X60 to X80 class of which the plate thickness is 20 mm or more into a cylindrical shape and welding butting faces subjected to beveling beforehand according to bilayer welding of one layer from the inner surface and one layer from the outer surface by using multi-electrode submerged arc welding, (1) an angle between the inclination of a tangent of a melt line on the position of 7 mm from the plate surface of welding metal of precedent welding part and/or succeeding welding part and a center line of welding bead is 15° or more and (2) toughness of welding metal center on the position of 7 mm from the plate surface is 2.0 times or more of toughness of a welding heat affected zone of 0.5 mm from the melt line.
