PURPOSE: To allow only a relevant subscriber terminal equipment to. select an outgoing channel and to view a message by sending the message such as a video image, a voice signal or a character from a center side to the outgoing channel exclusively for the message with respect to the specific subscriber.

CONSTITUTION: The subscriber personal message system in the CATV is provided with a message source 1 from which a message signal (x) is transmitted, a center controller 2 transmitting a control signal (y) such as a text used to define a message channel or with a subscriber or the like being a message notice difference added thereto and a multiplexer 3 multiplexing the message signal (x) and the control signal (y) and transmitting the multiplexed signal to a transmission line α, and also with subscriber terminal equipments 4-1-4-m receiving the message signal (x) and the control signal (y) from the transmission line α and selecting a message channel or the like in response to the control signal (y), and television receivers 5-1-5-n connecting to the subscriber terminal equipments 4-1-4-m to monitor the message or the like.
