Abstract:
The invention relates to a transmission system with a sub-band echo canceller (5, 6) with a canceller (5) which can be inserted between a receiving link (r) and a transmitting link (s). To reduce the computing effort and the signal transit times even in sub-band coding or sub-band decoding, the sub-band coding device (1, 2, 3, 4) exhibits a synthesis filter bank (2) and an analysis filter bank (3) which are provided both for sub-band coding and for sub-band echo cancellation. Advantageous features of application for the echo canceller are subscriber terminals, for example hands-free talking devices for car telephones, video telephones or video conference devices having an echo path formed by at least one microphone and at least one loudspeaker.
