CONSTITUTION: This is a compound of formula I {R1 and R2 are each H, a halogen, a 1-4C (halo)alkyl, a 2-4C (halo)alkenyl, etc.; A is a group of formula II [R3 and R4 are each a halogen, a 1-5C alkyl, a 2-4C (halo)alkenyl, etc.; R5 to R8 are each H or a (1-4C alkoxy) 1-4C alkyl; X is O, CO, etc.; m and n are each 0-2]}. For example, 3-(8-chloro-1-oxa-4-thia-1,2,3,4- tetrahydronaphthalene-7-carbonyl)-5-methylbicyclo[4.1.0]heptane-2,4-dione. A compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of the formula: A-COCN.
