PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound which has a protein tyrosine kinase inhibiting action, useful as an antitumor agent and therapeutic agent of immunological diseases and inflammatory diseases associated with protein kinase, and which also exhibits an antimicrobial activity.

CONSTITUTION: This compound of formula I [A1 and A2 are each a substd. lower alkyl, a substd. lower alkenyl or the like; Ar1 and Ar2 are each an aryl, a cycloalkyl or the like; R is H, a lower alkyl or the like; group -C(=X) is -C(=O), -C(=S) or the like], its salt and/or tautomers thereof, such as 4-(3-[3- methylureido]propyl)-4,5-dianilino-phthalimide is obtained by reacting a dicarboxylic acid of formula II or its reactive acid derivative such as dimethyl phthalate of the compd. of formula II with an amino compd. of the formula H2N-R in a higher boiling alcohol such as ethylene glycol at 120°C.
