PURPOSE: To obtain the subject derivative having fungicidal and pesticidal properties, useful even in low consumption amount and low concentration by reacting a specific phenol with a phenyl compound.
CONSTITUTION: The objective derivative is represented by formula I [wherein X is =CH-OCH3, =CH-CH3 or =N-OCH3; R1 is 1-6C (halogen) alkyl, 2-6C alkenyl, 3-6C alkynyl, haloalkenyl, 1-4C alkoxy-1-6C alkyl or the like; R2 and R3 are each H, halogen, cyano, nitro, 1-4C alkyl or the like; R4 is cyano, chloro, bromo, 1-6C alkoxy or the like; R5 is nitro, cyano, halogen, 1-4C alkyl or the like; Y is O or -NH-, -N(CH3)-; and R6 is H or 1-4C alkyl], e.g. E-2- methoxyimino-2-[2-(4-[ethoxyimino-methoxymethyl]-2,5-dimethyl-phenoxymethyl)- phenyl]methylacetateamide. The derivative is obtained by reacting a phenol represented by formula II with a phenyl compound represented by formula III (wherein L is a leaving group).
