Title:
SUBSTRATE FOR BATTERY ELECTRODE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3481797
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the active material holding force, and-' increase the coated amount of the active material in the thickness direction by providing projecting and recessed parts over the whole surface of a metal sheet, and opening a hole at a vertex of each projecting and recessed part, and forming a burr projected outward from a peripheral edge of the hole.
SOLUTION: At the time of performing the emboss work to a metal sheet 1, a vertex part of each projecting part 2 and each recessed part is broken so as to form a hole 2a and a hole 3a in the vertex of each projecting part 2 and each recessed part 3, and while a peripheral edge of these holes 2a, 3a is formed with a burr 8. When the metal sheets 1 are laminated in the vertical direction, the burrs 8 thereof are engaged with each other in the vertical direction. These burrs 8 are securely fixed to each other by fusion or welding so as to unify the metal sheets 1. A substrate for the battery electrode, which is formed by laminating the metal sheets 1, is formed with spaces 4, which are respectively surrounded by the projecting parts 2 and the recessed parts 3 of each metal sheet and while whose opening surface in upper and lower part thereof are surrounded by the adjacent metal sheets 1. The spaces 4 are communicated with each other through the holes 2a, 3a.
