To provide a substrate housing container and packing body thereof, capable of preventing dew condensation or pollution of a substrate housed in the substrate housing container, even if the outside air temperature is changed when the substrate housing container for housing the substrate is packed for transportation.
The substrate housing container 1 includes a container body having an opening to store a substrate, and a lid for closing the opening. When the substrate housing container 1 is packed using a packing material consisting of a packing bag 11, a shock-absorbing material 13, and a packing box 14, a heat-insulating layer 12 is provided at least on the substrate housing container 1 or the packing material, and the substrate housing container 1 is surrounded. The heat-insulating layer 12 has an air layer, and a humidity-conditioning agent, and the substrate housing container 1 has a protective member 8 on its outer peripheral part, which is preferably a packing body of the substrate housing container 1 to be packed.
