The sucking transport device 1 sucks stacked long plates W of a flat shape by a sucking means and transports them to a fixed position. In the sucking transport device, the sucking means is so constructed as to suck the long plate in a state of waving in a longitudinal direction. The sucking means comprises a plurality of suction pads 3 which are arranged in the longitudinal direction with respect to the long plates W, and pad portions 31 for attraction of the long plates W are disposed at vertical positions which are varied in a predetermined pattern.
