To provide a suction port body for a vacuum cleaner where dust on a surface to be cleaned is less likely to adhere to a rotary body attached to a suction head and the periphery of the rotation body.
The suction port body 11 includes: the suction head 12 having a suction chamber 19; and a front wheel (rotary body) 27 rotated while being supported by the head and being in contact with the surface to be cleaned. Below a supporting portion which rotatably supports the front wheel 27 with respect to the suction head 12, a communicating groove 31 is provided. One end of the communicating groove 31 is continued to the suction chamber 19 and the other end of the communicating groove 31 faces a side surface of the lower end of the front wheel 27. In a place which is on the upper side of the communicating groove 31 and between the front wheel 27 and the wall of the suction head 12 opposing to the front wheel, a first gap continued to the other end of the communicating groove 31 is provided. A cover portion 35 which forms a second gap G continued to the first gap and opening on the lateral side of the front wheel 27 between the peripheral surface of the front wheel 27 and the cover portion 35 is provided at the suction head 12 along the peripheral direction of the front wheel 27.
