Title:
SULFONATED OLIGOSACCHARIDE COMPOUND AND ITS INTERMEDIATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3163359
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new sulfonated oligosaccharide compound having an amphipathic property and useful as a biological surfactant, its synthetic intermediate or the like.
SOLUTION: A compound of formula I [R10, R11 and R16 are each H, an acyl or a silyl; R12, R13 and R15 are each H or an acyl; R14 is H or an acyl which can easily be deacylated; R11 and R12, and R14 and R15 are each bounded to each other to form a (hemi)acetal; and Y is benzyloxy, hydroxyl group, a halogen or the like] or formula II [(n) is 1-3; R17 to R21 are each H, an acyl, benzyl or a silyl; R22 and R23 are each H, an acyl, a silyl or SO3M (M is H or an alkali metal); either of R22 and R23 is SO3M; and Y is benzyloxy, nitrophenoxy or the like]. The galactose compound of formula I is an intermediate for synthesizing the sulfated oligosaccharide compound of formula II. The compound of formula II is obtained by preparing a compound of formula IV (R1, R2 and R5 are each an acyl; and R4 is H or an acyl) from a compound of formula III as a starting raw material, and then reacting the prepared compound of formula IV with a sulfonating reagent.
