Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyloxyphenyldimethylsulfonium compound of the formula (R is 9-fluorenylmethoxy).
USE: A water-soluble acylating agent. A 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonylating agent used as an amino group-protecting group in the synthesis of peptides.
PREPARATION: The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting 4- hydroxyphenyldimethylsulfonium methyl sulfate with 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl chloride under ice-cooling with stirring.
