Abstract:

To provide a new sulfur atom-containing cyclic compound containing sulfur atoms at a high density and resultantly useful as an optical material, to provide a method for producing the compound and to provide a cross-linkable composition.

The sulfur atom-containing cyclic compound is characterized in that the compound is represented by general formula (1) [wherein, R1is a group represented by a CH2=CHCOO-R2- or a CH2=CCH3COO-R2- (wherein, R2represents a methylene group or a 2-10C alkylene group); m is an integer of ≥1; and n is an integer of ≥1]. The method for producing the sulfur atom-containing cyclic compound is characterized as follows. A specific cyclic thioester is reacted with a specified sulfide compound to thereby provide the sulfur atom-containing cyclic compound. The cross-linkable composition is characterized as comprising the sulfur atom-containing cyclic compound represented by general formula (1) and a photoradical polymerization initiator.
